Today The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water is released in theaters and looks to be quite the success. Despite it being a decade since the last film, the positive reception of the movie not only proves that Spongebob can adequately transition to the silver screen but his popularity is still at an all time high and doesn’t look to be declining anytime soon. Now that’s hardly the only movie to go crazy over this year; the rest of 2015 is filled with amazing animated films that are sure to bring in viewers of all ages. Here are a few examples of what you can look forward to this year.

Ratchet & Clank

Based on the famous video game series by Insomniac Games, the highly anticipated Ratchet & Clank film seeks to retell the events of the first game, effectively serving as an origin story. Starring James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet and Dave Kaye as Clank, the film also boasts the voice talents of Jim Ward, Kevin Michael Richardson and Armin Shimerman.

Hotel Transylvania 2

Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and starring Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez and Adam Sandler, Hotel Transylvania 2 brings back all the characters you loved from the original 2012 film for this exciting and eagerly awaited sequel.

The Peanuts Movie

The first Peanuts movie in thirty-five years is also meant to commemorate the comic strip’s 65th anniversary. Featuring the voice of Bill Melendez and Noah Schnapp, this is the fifth Peanuts film overall and is sure to please fans both young and old.

A Mouse Tale

To be released in just a few days, A Mouse Tale tells the story of two young mice on a quest to save their kingdom from evil rats. With the highly commendable voice talents of Miranda Cozgrove, Drake Bell, John Heder, Cary Elwes, Jon Lovitz and Tom Arnold, this movie is sure to exceed any and all expectations.

The Little Prince

Based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, this animated film stars Hollywood powerhouses Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, James Franco, Paul Giamatti and more. Anybody who loved the book is sure to fall back in love it the story as it arrives in stop motion animation form this October 2015.


You love Minions. I love Minions. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard of them or doesn’t enjoy them in any way. Now that they have their own movie, I guess we can safely say that dreams do, in fact, come true. Starring Pierre Coffin, Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Michael Keaton, this film is bound to be one of the more popular ones of the year!

Inside Out

Set inside the head of a young girl, her life is being lead by five emotions — Anger, Digust, Joy, Fear and Sadness. Voiced by Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Minday Kaling and Bill Hader, this animated film from Disney and Pixar Animation Studios should be a surefire hit when it gets released this summer.
